This is the last film Stuart Gordon directed. He’s probably best know for Re-Animator, and while this film isn’t anywhere near as over-the-top as that film, it shares similar elements of black comedy with that cult classic.
Stuck is based on a true story, with some notable changes. I won’t say much more lest I spoil the film, but the gist is a down-on-his-luck guy who has been evicted from his apartment is hit by a car. The driver is a nurse who is drunk and high, and when she realizes the man she hit is alive, and stuck in her windshield, she opts to try to dispose of him rather than help him. What ensues is at times gruesome, at other times funny, and occasionally over-the-top in the same way Re-Animator often was, and the fact that most of what is shown onscreen actually happened makes this film in some ways even more shocking than that fictional tale of mad scientists and zombies.
