The world is still engaged in social distancing, and I was asked at the end of last week’s Twitch-streamed dance party if I could continue to do one every Friday night. Thus was born the third installment in what promises to be a lengthy series, Online Dance Party in 3-D. Nothing was actually in 3-D, it just sounded cool to me, like how in the ’80s movies would often film the third film in a series in 3-D as a box office draw.
The problem now becomes what to name future events. Next week is easy– Online Dance Party Episode IV: A New Hope– but after that it will get tricky. I’ll eventually end up with Online Dance Party vs. the Smog Monster, or the Online Dance Party with the Golden Gun, but I’ll cross those bridges when I come to them. Lets hope we still aren’t social distancing by then!!
For whatever reason I’ve been sticking to primarily playing vinyl records. It seems more real. Anyone can push a button, right? My viewers deserve only the best, and here’s what I thought were the best songs to entertain a nation of quarantined dancers last night.
