Last night I DJ’ed a wedding for a Persian couple, which meant I got to play lots of Persian music. I’ve played a number of Persian weddings and parties throughout my career as a DJ, and it’s always fun. The music is often uptempo and danceable, with an electronic, house-style beat, which makes for an energetic dance floor.
The Persian wedding traditions are always a nice change of pace, too. Last night they did an extended knife dance, which is always a sight to behold.
Everyone was happy, pretty much every guest danced the entire time, and the couple was effusive in their praise at the end of the night. Here are the songs I played.
